The former diva, who worked opposite top Tamil stars including Kamal Haasan, Ajith and Vijay, announced that her 'Simran and Sons' production banner plans to produce two films a year.
"The very fact that I have great love and passion towards cinema is the basic instinct on producing and directing films," she said in a statement.
She also had plans to venture into movie making, she added.
Simran, who starred in a number of hit films in Tamil and Telugu, was a top star with a huge fan following.
