Singapore will become a "partner country" in the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit to be held in 2015, its Consul General in India Ajit Singh announced today after meeting state Chief Minister Anandi Patel at Gandhinagar.
"A high-level delegation of industrialists and entrepreneurs of Singapore will come here to take part in the summit," according to a release by the state government here.
In another major step towards increasing co-operation between Singapore and Gujarat, Patel also discussed with Singh about organising a 'study tour' of all Mayors and other top officials of eight municipal corporations, to Singapore in coming days.
"This delegation from Gujarat will study urban governance and urban planning in Singapore during their study tour," the release said.
Patel also discussed in detail about the possibility to arrange student exchange programmes between universities of Gujarat and Singapore, it said.
During the meeting, Singh informed the CM that many entrepreneurs of his country are showing immense interest in setting up their businesses in Gujarat.
Singh also expressed his country's desire to play an active role in the development of LNG terminals in Gujarat, according to the release.
