Singh elected as President of South Asian Wrestling Federation

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been elected the President of South Asian Wrestling Federation at its General Body Meeting here.
Sharan, who is the President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), was unanimously elected for the top position in South Asian Wrestling Federation on February 5, on the sidelines of the 12th SA Games.
Tabiur Rehman from Bangladesh was elected as the Secretary General.
The House unanimously authorised Singh to appoint one joint secretary from India, a treasurer from Afghanistan and one executive member from each SAF countries.
Eight countries -- Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, besides hosts India -- are currently taking part in the ongoing South Asian Games in Guwahati and Shillong.
Some members from different SAF countries who were also unanimously elected as office bearers of the Federation were Chawdhury Mohd. Ajgar of Pakistan (Vice President), UH Neville Pdmashri of Sri Lanka (Vice President), Rajmohammed Ansari of Nepal (Vice President).
