Newly appointed Uttarakhand Congress president Pritam Singh today sought support and cooperation of every worker to revive the party in the state.
"I have taken over in difficult times and revitalising the party is my priority. But this is something I cannot achieve without your wholehearted cooperation.
"Every party worker will have to go door-to-door to establish first-hand contact with people and make them aware about the party's programmes and policies," Singh told a meeting of state party executive committee members, newly elected party MLAs, and heads of state units of frontal organisations of the party.
On the ongoing membership drive of the party, he asked party functionaries to submit membership books at the state party headquarters by May 15 which is the the deadline for their submission on the basis of which a report will be sent to the AICC.
Congratulating party workers for making six lakh members in the state so far, Singh who represents the Chakrata constituency in the state Assembly, said this number has to be increased.
Terming the two months of the BJP rule in the state as "disappointing", he said that the people of the state were feeling "cheated".
