West Bengal needed a single window clearance system for all health care projects to boost investment in the PPP model.
"We have asked the West Bengal government to introduce single window clearance system for all PPP health care projects
in the state. The state health secretary was positive on this and said he will take this forward," Suyash Borar, chairman, CII Health care Sub-Committee, east, & CEO, CMRI Hospital said on the sidelines of a health care event organised by CII.
He said there were many foreign investors who showed keen interest to invest in a big way in health care in the region and the single window clearance would boost sentiment.
The state government had recently announced single window clearance for eco-tourism for speedy implementation of projects in PPP.
A white paper and a website connecting investors across the globe with all stakeholders in the health sector in eastern India would be introduced, Borar said.
West Bengal had recently cleared three medical colleges to be set up on PPP model.
Camellia Group and Techno Group would set up three medical colleges at Kolkata, Nadia and Cooch Behar districts.
For the proposed medical college in Kolkata, land was allotted with a five-year deadline, while colleges at Krishnanagar and Cooch Behar would have two years to use two existing infrastructure of government hospitals, CII said in a statement quoting state health secretary Malay De.
