Sino-Indian movie co-production treaty to be inked tomorrow

India and China will sign a movie co-production treaty in film production tomorrow, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar said today.
"We have signed co-production treaties with nine countries. Tomorrow we will sign a co-production treaty with China," Javadekar told reporters in Panaji today.
Without elaborating on the co-production treaty during the press conference, Javadekar said that all countries who have inked co-production treaties with India will be invited for International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2014, which will be held from November 20 to November 30 in Goa.
The minister said that there would be special classes about the co-production treaty since it would bring new opportunities for Indian movie producers.

Even as Amitabh Bachchan's name was recommended as chief guest to inaugurate IFFI, Javadekar refused to comment about it.
"We have already discussed the name. We will soon decide who will be the chief guest," he said.
Responding to a question if Bachchan was rejected by the former UPA government to inaugurate IFFI, the minister commented, "You just wait for the announcement (on the chief guest). We don't believe in boycott culture. You will soon get to know who is the chief guest".
