Six accused identified as Monu Gujjar, Rahul, Gulbir, Ravinder, Mota Gujjar and another Ravinder who were arrested in the murder case have been booked under the Gangster Act too for their criminal activities, Deputy SP Mukesh Mishra said.
Om Vir Singh 'Fauji', a retired army man who was the vice-president of BJP unit in Mirapur town, was out for a morning walk when two assailants fired multiple shots at him with country-made pistols on June 10.
Following the incident, Singh's family members and BJP workers had staged protests and blocked a road in the district in June this year.
Senior police officials had assured the protesters of speedy investigation in the case and security personnel were deployed in the area.
