Six fined for selling adulterated food

A penalty of Rs 8 lakh was slapped on six persons after food samples taken from their shops by food department officials were found to be adulterated.
Additional District Magistrate SatishPal yesterday found all the six personsguilty underPrevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 after the test reports from the laboratory revealed that the samples of food and milk contained adulterated content.
The ADM slapped a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on Pankaj Jain for selling adulterated snack items and Rs 2 lakh on Neha Namkeen Udyog for supplying it to the seller.
While, Suresh of Bharatpur village and Kailash Chandra of Itarni village were fined Rs 2 lakh each for selling adulterated milk, Koshlendraof Heerapur village in Mainpuri district was fined Rs 75,000 for the same.
The ADM also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Nepali citizen for selling sub-standard sweets.
