Six pilgrims killed near Tirupati

Six pilgrims on their way to the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala were killed and five others injured when their van and a container truck collided head on near here today.
The mishap occurred at Seetharampeta, about 18 km from here, police said, adding, two of the deceased were women.
The victims, all occupants of the van, were from Macherla in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh, they said adding the injured had been admitted to the government hospital here.
