A skeleton was recovered while digging a pond in Binodpur village under Madhabdihi police station in Burdwan district today, police said.
Labourers while digging the pond as MGNRGS work found the skeleton and informed the panchayat leaders and the police.
Police said the skeleton is of an adult male of around 5 ft height and it appears it is there for at least 10 years.
As no missing report of an adult male was filed in the nearby areas in the recent past, it appears the man was killed somewhere else and was dumped here, police said.
