SL President Rajapaksa's effigy burnt

Activists of Tamizhar Viduthalai Iyakkam today burnt the effigy of Sri Lankan President,Mahinda Rajapaksa here to protest against death sentence to five fishermen by a court in the island nation, police said.
The activists assembled near Red Cross Building and set afire the effigy, before police could reach and seize it.
The activists were arrested for their act, police said.
