As guns boomed and cops reversed their firearms, Minister Badri Narayan Patra along with senior police officers paid their respect to Sahu whose brother later lit the funeral pyre at his native Dumal village in Kalahandi district.
The slain Inspector In-Charge (IIC) of Ghatagaon police station in Keonjhar district is survived by wife and four-year-old son.
Sahu came under attack while he was on the trail of a dacoit gang yesterday and died on the spot.
