The data pertains to conversations between Anurag Garg, one of the accused, and Sandeep Naik, son of Maharashtra minister Ganesh Naik, he told the division bench of Justices P V Hardas and Anuja Prabhudessai.
The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by former journalist Ketan Tirodkar seeking a CBI probe into the case, because police are allegedly shielding the accused.
The judges, who conducted the proceedings in the chamber, asked the Mumbai crime branch to submit by September 9 an additional progress report on investigation, Tirodkar later told reporters.
Tirodkar had earlier argued that investigators had not probed the CDRs of talks between some of the accused and the police officials. The bench had then asked the crime branch to probe the CDRs.
Today Sandeep Loharia, who is also a complainant in this case, submitted CDRs to the court, saying they might be a useful piece of evidence to nail down the culprits.
Sandeep had earlier received threats, warning him to keep away from the case, and is now under police protection.
Loharia was shot dead outside his office in Vashi (Navi Mumbai) on February 16 last year.
