Social activist shot dead

A social activist was today shot dead by unidentified men at a road-side hotel at Bhandar bustee in Palamau district.
Sunil Pandey, 36, was at the hotel when three persons alighted from a motor-cycle and sprayed bullets on him, killing him on the spot, Deputy Superintendent of Police Hiralal Ravi said.
Pandey was a resident of Tona village and was on his way to Medininagar when he stopped by for tea, the police officer said.
Pandey was involved in social campaigns in the poverty-stricken area.
