A Garhwal Rifles soldier was killed and two of his colleagues were seriously injured today when the car they were travelling in fell into a 150-metre deep gorge in Uttarakhand's Pauri district, police said.
Havildar Raghuvir Singh along with Lance Naiks Pramod Singh and Matbar Singh were on their way to Lansdowne in a Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre (GRRC) vehicle when the accident occurred near Deriyakhal tiraha, Lansdowne police station incharge M P Purval said.
All the three occupants sustained grievous injuries and were rushed to Lansdowne military hospital by GRRC officers and jawans, he added.
Due to the grave injuries, the trio were referred to Roorkee military hospital but Raghuvir Singh died on the way while, Pramod Singh and Matbar Singh were undergoing treatment in Roorkee, Purval said.
