Addressing a press conference here, Saini said it was wrong to brand the incident as merely 'ink throwing episode' because the youths after throwing ink "assaulted" him.
"I fell down and two of them tried to strangulate me. It was with great difficulty that my gunman separated them off me," he said.
Saini also claimed that the fifth assaulter was carrying some weapon "which he could not use as crowd of my supporters surrounded him, and he escaped from site".
"The accused had told the police during interrogation that they were planning to assault me in Hisar and Jind too but could not do it due to stringent police arrangements," he said.
Saini alleged that some leaders from a particular community were trying to give the assault case a communal turn.
"Though I have never spoken ill against any community, they are using derogatory and abusive words against me. I would not have pressed for registration of a case against the youths had INLD leader Abhay Chautala not described the incident as only a publicity stunt," he said.
Meanwhile, a large number of youths from the Jat community today blocked the vehicular traffic on Kurukshetra-Pehowa Road near Birla Mandir chowk to demand the withdrawal of charges under section 307 IPC (attempt to murder) imposed on the five youths who threw ink at Saini.
The blockade was lifted when Sub-Divisional Magistrate reached the spot and persuaded the youths to move from the site.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team led by DSP Nupur Bishnoi formed to investigate the assault case has revealed that three out of the five accused have changed their mobile phone numbers 19-22 times in the last one year.
"Three of the five accused have been booked by the Haryana police in different cases in the past," said Superintendent of Police Simardeep Singh.
