In his written reply, Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Birender Singh said that instances of misuse/diversion of funds allocated to the States have come to the notice of the ministry as per the reports received from Accountant General/Chartered Accounts empanelled by Comptroller and Auditor General during the audit of the accounts of the states.
As per the data released by the minister, six states such as Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Nagaland have either diverted or misused the funds allocated by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
