Congress President Sonia Gandhi has expressed distress and shock over the loss of lives in a landslide in Arunachal Pradesh.
Extending her condolences to the bereaved families, Gandhi hoped that relief and rescue operations will avert further loss.
She asked Congress MLAs, the PCC and the frontal organisations to volunteer in relief work.
At least 16 people lost their lives when a massive landslide triggered by heavy rains hit a labour camp in Tawang today.
