Sons of two Haryana cops booked for "storing" stolen items

Sons of two Haryana policemen were booked for allegedly "storing" goods stolen during Jat agitation even as raids are being conducted by police to recover material "looted" from the business community by arsonists.
"An FIR has been lodged against two boys (sons of Haryana policemen) and we have called them for questioning," Rohtak SP Shanshak Anand said today when asked to comment on lodging case against the wards of two Haryana police personnel.
Refusing to share the identity of the boys, the SP said police had conducted a raid at a shop which was taken by both the accused on rent in Rohtak about 7-8 months back.

"We have recovered liquor bottles, branded jackets, shoes among other material from the shop," he said.
Police have stepped up efforts to recover the goods and other material which were "looted" by arsonists.
"In another raid at a shop, we have recovered Ray Ban sun-glasses," he said. "Raids are being conducted at several places to recover stolen items," he said.

The business community in Rohtak alone had claimed financial loss of about Rs 1,000 crore during Jat stir.
Shops and commercial establishments belonging to Non-Jats were looted and then set on fire, traders had said.
Meanwhile, the SP said there was complete normalcy in Jat-dominated district which was hit by spate of incidents of violence and arson.

He further said that more than 300 FIR had been lodged so far in connection with arson and violence incidents in Rohtak. "We are also identifying people who were involved in these incidents," he said.
