In a role, not having realised in past 16 years of his career, thespian Soumitra Chatterjee undoes himself talking in unchiselled accent in 'Rupkatha Noy' at the 'listening chamber' of life.
"Seriously speaking not found such a character in past 16 years at least. Eta ekta moner mato choritro, anyorakam choritro (This remains a character to my liking, a character very different from what I had etched out so far)," the legendary actor had told PTI.
"You will discover a new Soumitra Chatterjee who does speak in a more untutored, coarse way akin to the street dialect perhaps in the neighbourhood Park, which can be termed as a listening chamber. "The dialogue is more commonplace and adds up a new element to the story," director Atanu Ghosh said.
Atanu, speaking at the music launch of the movie, said "Soumitra Chatterjee's character can be described as a storehouse of energy in this film. He cannot be reduced to a cardboard type in any film role at this stage. I had to keep that in mind."
"Here the character speaks more in staccato form as he rather reacts to the situations and conversations. Away from the stifling air at home, he heads towards the Park to get some relief and that is how the story unfolds," Atanu says.
The film's music director Joy Sarkar described the melody of the film as non-laboured and more as an extension of the script.
"As Park is an important motif of the film, there is a song themed on the place with Soumitra Chatterjee seated on a bench as the music is played", he said during the launch of the music by Asha audio.
