South dist admin cracks whip on document forgers, arrests 2

Two persons were arrested today for allegedly preparing forged documents and large quantity of fake documents and certificates were recovered from them in a raid by the South Delhi district administration.
A team, led by Saket SDM, raided a tiny room in Said-ul Ajab locality on IGNOU Road and caught two persons who were preparing forged documents and certificates, including income certificates and residence proof, District Magistrate of South Delhi, Niharika Roy said.
The accused, Govind Ram and Amit, along with recovered forged papers and documents were handed over to police for further investigation.
Following complaints of circulation of forged documents in large numbers, a campaign was launched against the document forgers and decoys were also left to trap them.
On specific input, a team of officials raided the Said-ul Ajab premises and stumbled upon almost all the documents and certificates, including income and caste certificates and residence proof issued by district administration.
The originals of the certificates and documents were also found.
The Crime branch in its investigation had got the EWS certificates verified from the concerned SDM offices.
During the verification process of EWS certificates used for seeking admissions, a total of 250 such documents were found to be fake.
Two days ago, Delhi Police Crime branch had arrested four persons who allegedly ran a racket of fraudulent Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota admissions in prominent schools in the city.
