The delegation included Mayor Ha-Jin Song of Jeonju City, Capital of North Jeolla province of South Korea, and the Chairman of Jeonju City Council, Lee Myeong Yeon.
Song explained that Jeonju was a leader in the carbon fibre industry and the purpose for the delegation's visit was to discuss the scope for a partnership in the automobile and composite industries.
Song said that much like Haryana, Jeonju, too, was once seen as being a primarily agriculture state which had, however, now grown to be a leading industrial presence.
Welcoming the delegation, Hooda said he had visited Korea thrice and found that Haryana shared many similarities with the country.
Hooda said that Haryana was a sports power, as was Korea, and pointed out that a number of Korean companies had operations in his state, including Posco and Standard Diagnostics.
Hooda assured full cooperation to Song and asked him to spell out their requirements.
He suggested that industrialists from both sides should meet and discuss areas of cooperation. He nominated HSIIDC Managing Director, Tarun Bajaj, as the nodal officer for the purpose.
