Southern Samittee beats Bihar XI 4-0, sails into finals

Southern Samittee, Kolkata, stormed into the final of the 2nd All India Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Football meet, outclassing host Bihar XI 4-0 in the second semifinal at the Moin-Ul-Haq stadium here today.
It will now meet another Kolkata team - the Indian Army - in the Wednesday's final.
Virtually shaken by the opening minute attack of Bihar XI when striker Fyaz failed to convert an open chance, the Kolkata-outfit regrouped and scored two goals each in both halves of the match to advance to the final.
Shyam Kumar converted a Vasila pass to draw first blood for Southern Samittee in the very third minute of the encounter and sixteen minutes later, Vasila scored another to take Samittee's lead to 2-0.
After the change of ends, the Kolkata side, tightened its grip on the match with Abey striking the third one in the 62nd minute, while Nigerian Musa converted a penalty kick five minutes later to help his team to clinch tie 4-0.
