At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean for delivery in October contracts surged by Rs 48, or 1.34 per cent to Rs 3,637 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 49,140 lots.
On similar lines, soybean for delivery in far-month November delivery also rose by Rs 40 or 1.12 per cent to Rs 3,611 per quintal, having an open interest of 42,450 lots.
Market players attributed rie in soybean prices at futures trade to a firming trend overseas.
