Bahujan Samaj Party today launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party government for its attempt to withdraw cases against terror accused, saying the move was meant to "mislead" Muslims and keep its shortcomings on various fronts under wraps.
"After having failed badly on the law and order front, Samajwadi Party government is enacting this drama of making claims of withdrawing cases against Muslim terror accused thereby misleading them only to keep its (government's) shortcomings under wraps," BSP national secretary S C Mishra told newspersons here.
However, Mishra said since the High Court has taken note of the issue it would not be right for him to make any further statement.
Alleging that the Akhilesh government was "misusing central funds", Misra said the laptops distributed by the government are of no help to the students of the state.
On his party's view on the Food Security Bill, Misra said that it would be out in the open once it is tabled in the House and party chief Mayawati would inform the press on it at the right time.
Commenting on senior BJP leaders opting out of BJP meet in Goa, Mishra said BJP is now a "sick party".
Mishra was here to take part in Brahmin Sammelan of his party.
The Allahabad high court on Friday stayed the UP government's order to withdraw cases against persons accused of indulging in terror activities.
While referring the matter to a larger bench, the court gave six weeks time to the respondents, including the central and the state governments, for filing their reply and four weeks for rejoinder thereafter.
