There is no law and order in Uttar Pradesh and the Samajwadi Party government is carrying out corrupt practices in a "planned manner", a senior BJP leader today alleged.
"There is nothing like law and order here... It looks as if the UP government and those running it have come to believe that this is the last phase for them. Therefore, all corrupt practices are being carried out in a planned manner.. If this continues, central government will have to think about it," senior BJP leader Ram Shankar Katheriya, who is also MP from Agra, told reporters here.
"I will first ask the state government to set the law and order right and if it is not done then Centre will have to be approached," Katheriya said.
To a question on whether the Centre can dismiss the UP government on the issue of law and order, he said BJP was not in favour of dismissing any elected government but will have to think if such a situation continues.
Katheriya, who is party incharge of Punjab and Chattisgarh states, was here to offer condolences to the family of two brothers who were shot dead recently.
On the results of the just concluded assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana, he said people's confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah has been proved through the poll results.
Terming victory of BJP in these states as the beginning of the end of regional parties, Katheriya said BSP and SP would suffer losses in the coming assembly elections in UP and the next government would be that of the BJP.
To another question, he said his government was committed on the promise of bringing back the black money and the necessary process for it is being undertaken.
