Ex-councillor Abraar Ahmed's wife Navi Band had lodged a case against Aas Mohammed alias Laden, in-charge of South assembly constituency, stating that he had demanded Rs 1 lakh from Ahmed in February, police said.
Laden was arrested and sent to jail today, they said.
He is a history-sheeter and has several cases of extortion registered against him in Kankarkheda area, they said.
