SP leader's son booked for rape

A SP leader's son has been booked for allegedly raping a girl for a year on the pretext of marriage and forcing her to undergo an abortion at Jahanpur village in Shamli district, police said.
According to the girl's complaint yesterday, Sameryab, son of UP State Food and Essential Commodities Corporation Limited Chairman Riyasat Rana, raped her for a year on the false promise of marriage, SHO Kairana Police Station VP Singh said.
Later when the girl became pregnant an abortion was carried out and the foetus buried, the SHO said.
A case was registered on the directives of Superintendent of Police Vijay Bhushan after the victim met him yesterday seeking action, the SHO said, adding, the foetus has been recovered and sent for post mortem.
