SPCB orders closure of 36 brick kilns in Uttar Pradesh

The State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) today ordered the closure of 36 brick kiln units in the district, an official said.
SPCB officer Vivek Raj said out of the 333 brick kilns, 36 units were defying the rules.
Earlier this month, the National Green Tribunal had directed the Uttar Pradesh government to take action against unauthorised brick kilns causing air pollution.
