Lok Sabha Speaker today disallowed notices of adjournment of Question Hour on issues ranging from price rise and alleged fuelling of anti-India sentiments in Nepal.

Another adjournment motion on the issue of intolerance was also disallowed as a discussion on the subject was already on the agenda of the House for the day.

Today is practically the first working day of the Lok Sabha in the Winter session as the first two days last week were devoted on a high voltage discussion on commitment on Constitution.

While M Veerappa Moily (Congress) and Sudip Bandhopadhyay (TMC) had given a notice on price rise, Rajesh Ranjan (RJD) had had given a notice on alleged fuelling of anti-India sentiments in Nepal. N K Premchandran (RSP) had given a notice on the issue of intolerance but a discussion on the subject is already part of Lok Sabha business for the day.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan disallowed the notices, leading to protests from Opposition members. But the House soon took up the Question Hour without disruptions.

At the onset, Mahajan referred to several incidents which had led to loss of life of people. She recalled the blast in a house in Jhabua in Madhya Pradesh, the incidents of crane crash and stampede in Mecca, the terror attacks in Paris and earthquake in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Members kept a moment of silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the departed.
