Batman will appear on eight different stamps, depicting the character in four different eras from his original 1939 athletic design through today's shorter-eared, more muscular crime fighter, said The Hollywood Reporter.
"What a great place to celebrate him - on a stamp," the US Postal Service's director of stamp services and corporate licensing Susan McGowan said.
The stamps will be available on sheets of 20, with each stamp worth 49 cents. They will be available from October 9, with a ceremony marking their day of issue taking place at this year's New York Comic Con at the Javits Center.
"Batman has inspired and influenced fans around the world for generations and will continue to do so for the next 75 years and beyond," he added.
