Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Chairperson Anita Kapur inaugurated the camp.
For assessment year 2015-16, e-filing of returns is mandatory for those whose total income exceeds Rs 5 lakh or if the return carries a claim for refund.
Paper returns in such cases will not be accepted, CBDT has clarified.
However, the income limit of Rs 5 lakh and claim of refund will not apply to taxpayers over the age of 80 years with a salary/pension income.
The camp has special facilitation counters for senior citizens and the differently-abled.
