Thousands of devotees witnessed special poojas conducted at the premises of famous Sri Ranganathar temple in nearby Sri Rangam today as a preparatory exercise for next year's Mahasamprokshanam (sprinkling of water).
The temple administration is planning to conduct the Mahasamprokshanam in a grand scale after a gap of 55 years, K T Narasimhan, a legendary archeologist appointed as the temple advisor said.
The holy water will be kept in special vessels and sprinkled all over the temple premises and the towers during the Mahasamprokshanam next year, he said.
