'Running for Art' is a programme conceived by the Kochi Biennale Foundation to raise greater awareness among citizens about the city's history, cultural legacy and way of life, which form the essence of the Biennale.
The 'Running for Art' theme will be integrated into the Spice Coast Marathon, which is to be held tomorrow. The 42.2 km race which begins and ends at Willingdon Island will cover Mattanchery Old Bridge, Thoppumpady, Karuvelipady, Jew Street, Bazaar Road and Parade Ground.
Spice Coast Marathon is an initiative of Soles of Cochin Runners Club. Its Director Ramesh Kanjilimadhom, said the purpose of the race is to "raise awareness about the importance of healthy lifestyle, promote amateur sports, and to support various charity organisations."
Organisers hope that the event along with the upcoming KMB, sdheduled to open on December 12, will restore Kochi on the global cultural map.
