"We are thrilled to experience great results for our first sale offer of 2015. To celebrate this confidence, we decided to launch a Valentine's Day sale offer," SpiceJet Chief Commercial Officer Kaneswaran Avili said in a release.
The bookings for the three-day offer -- "We love you with all our heart" -- commenced today, the airline said.
Meanwhile, official sources said that Spicejet has once again approached the government, seeking some more concessions, including on jet fuel payment.
The airline's fuel bill last fiscal stood at Rs 3,200 crore, which is expected to see a significant reduction in the current fiscal both on account of much lower fuel prices and reduced operations since November last year.
Its operations were grounded for an entire day in December last year after the oil companies refused to provide fuel to its planes for non-payment.
At the same time, Ajay Singh, who is in the process of acquiring management control of the airline from the Marans family, has approached the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, asking it not to deregister some of its leased planes as sought by the lessors, sources said.
SpiceJet spokesperson, when contacted, said that issues with the lessors are "legacy" one and being sorted out.
