The student, doing her first year B.Com, did not return home after she went to the college on Sept 17. Her parents enquiries with fellow students revealed that one Maniraj, hailing from Chidambaram, had taken her away, police said today.
Based on the complaint from the parents, police formed a special team which left for Chidambaram to trace the duo,they said.
