Sports Ministry Signs MoU with IIFCL for supporting badminton

The Sports Ministry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited, which would bring in a contribution of Rs 30 crore from IIFCL for supporting badminton.
"The Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS), Government of India and India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL), a company under Ministry of Finance have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 30th March, 2015 for supporting Badminton sport," The Ministry said in a statement.
"Under the MOU, IIFCL shall contribute Rs. 30 crore (Rs. 10 crore each year for 3 years) to the Target Olympic Podium Scheme 'TOP Scheme' under its initiatives for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)."
IIFCL have contributed Rs 10 crore to NSDF for the first year on yesterday.
The main activities to be carried out from the support for badminton are to provide customised training and coaching to TOP Scheme Athletes at institutes/centers having world class facilities under the guidance of renowned coaches and world class equipment to TOP Scheme Athletes among others.
"It will also ensure the availability of high quality support staff for the benefit of TOP scheme athletes, including but not limited to, physiotherapists and sports psychologists; and
Besides, appropriate support including medical, nutrition and physiological support, will also be made available to the TOP Scheme Athletes during the term.
