Amid pick up in domestic demand at spot market and restricted arrivals from producing regions, cardamom prices were up by 0.17 per cent to Rs 841.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July edged up by Rs 1.40 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 841.50 per kg in a business turnover of 4 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June contracts traded higher by 50 paise or 0.06 per cent to Rs 814.70 per kg in 42 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built up by participants due to rise in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
