Spot demand lifts mentha oil futures, rises 0.28%

Mentha oil prices were up 0.28 per cent to Rs 959.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by good demand at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September gained Rs 2.70, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 959.40 per kg, with a trading volume of 536 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in October edged up Rs 2.20, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 972 per kg, with a business turnover of 116 lots.
Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot market amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly influenced mentha oil prices in futures trade here.
