Sr BSNL officer arested by CBI on graft charges

An Additional GeneralManager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in Jaipur has been arrested by CBI for allegedly receiving bribe of Rs 50,000 for settling pending bills.
CBI sources said AGM Bipin Kumar Roy, Indian Telecom Service-1992 Batch, Telecom Project, BSNL was arrested when the agency laid a trap on the basis of complaint received by it.
"A case was registered againstAdditional GM, Telecom Project, BSNL, Jaipur U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 on the allegations that the Additional GM demanded bribe of Rs 60,000 and agreed to accept Rs.50,000/- from the complainant for settling his pending bills," CBI Spokesperson R K Gaur said here today.
He said CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from the complainant.
"Searches were conducted at office & residence of the accused at Jaipur which led to recovery of cash of Rs 4.5 lakh(approx)and incriminating documents," he said.
