Sri Lanka Cricket has offered an incentive of USD 1500 to the national team players as a reward for reaching the final of the ICC World T20 that will be held in Mirpur on Sunday.
SLC said that a further USD 1500 would be made available to them if they emerged winners.
This will be in addition to the 1500 the players have already become eligible for winning the semifinal against West Indies.
In the rain-hit semifinal last night, Sri Lanka defeated the reigning champions West Indies by 27 runs under the Duckworth Lewis method.
They will meet the winners of the second semifinal between India and South Africa.
SLC last month announced performance-based incentives to players after a major pay row.
The players had refused to sign new central contracts and demanded more share of revenue from ICC events.
Players were not happy with the new payment formula offered by the SLC.
They ventured into Bangladesh to play in the T20 without full agreement on the new payment formula.
If they win the final on Sunday, this will be Sri Lanka's first major international achievement since winning the ODI World Cup in 1996.
Sri Lanka were tagged chokers as they failed to win the 2007 and 2011 ODI World Cup finals while they also lost two T20 finals in 2009 and 2012.
