Spiritual leader and founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravishankar today called upon Naxals to join mainstream of society for the sake of Jharkhand's development and development of poor people.
"If you are fighting for social justice and development of poor people shun bullet and adopt ballot, your mission would be fulfilled", he said while addressing a gathering at Golf ground here this evening.
"In Jharkhand naxal incidents have come down sharply. Hardly 10 per cent have been left in state. I request naxals whosoever are left come to mainstream of society and contribute in proper utilization of Jharkhand's mineral resources for the development of state as well as for the uplift of poor people", he said.
The Art of Living founder rued that negative news on television was sending wrong message in the country
Ravishankar claimed that during his last visit to Jharkhand in 2009, thousands of naxal activists left violence and joined mainstream.
He called upon people to create a violence free society where women can roam freely and girls can go to college and school without any fear.
Ravishankar said he had come to Jharkhand to boost self confidence of people which is necessary for making cheerful life.
"I have come to recall you that for which you people are searching (self confidence) is within you and you have capacity to change the society," he said.
