After 'Yeti Obhijaan', director Srijit Mukherji is all set to make his next film 'Uma', the story of a young girl.
"Uma is the story centering round a young girl who is fighting a terminal disease," the 'Begumjaan' director said today.
She dreams to organise a Durga Puja at her household and her father works hard to brings smile on her face, Srijit said at the first look launch of the film.
The film has a cast of prominent faces in Bengali cinema - Jisshu Sengupta, Anjan Dutt, Srabonti, Rudranil Ghosh among others.
The music will be composed by Anupam Roy.
"I have chosen the cast considering how they fitted within the roles and all her versatile actors. And me and Anupam understand each other very well and he knows what I am asking for," Srijit said.
"We are planning to release the film in 2018," he added.
The 'Baishe Srabon' director also talked about the "great audience response" to 'Yeti Obhijaan,' released during Durga Puja.
"I have often been asked why I am not making children's films but 'Mishawr Rawhoshyo' and now 'Yeti Obhijaan' are two films which are being liked by children as well as adults," he said.
Both films are based on Sunil Gangopadhyay's popular children's fictions.
