"Vehicular traffic on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway was restored late last night after clearing the debris of avalanches which took place on April 25," a spokesman of the Traffic Department said today.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), which is responsible for the maintenance of the highway, cleared the roads for traffic at around 10 PM last night, he said.
The traffic on the 434-km arterial road connecting Leh to the rest of the state was stopped following the avalanches which hit two trucks and a load carrier between Gumri and Minamarg near Shetani Nallah in Kargil, 200 kms from here. Six people were injured in the incident.
