SSCB maintains lead in Sub-Jr National Archery Championship

Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) today maintained its supremacy in the boys' compound and recurve sections while Andhra Pradesh and Telengana emerged champion in the girls' section of the 35th Sub-junior National Archery Championship here.
In the boys 50+50 meters distance, SSCB's Subham Shete scored 684 points to bag the gold defeating Rajasthan's Tejraj Singh (683 points) in a closely contested match in the compound section.
Manas Jyoti Changmai of SSCB finished with 682 points for the third place.
P Geethika Lakshmi of Andhra Pradesh was in excellent form in the girls' section of the event as she surged ahead and kept on increasing the points before clinching the gold with 658 points defeating Khusbu Dayal of Himachal Pradesh, who scored 645 points.
Maharashtra's Anuja Mahalaxme had to remain content with a bronze at 643 points.
SSCB archers made a clean sweep in the boys 60+60 metres distance event bagging all three places.
Atul Verma earned the maximum 687 points to emerge champion against team-mate N Jemson Singh (679 points), who won a silver, followed by Nishant Kumawat (675 points) settled for a bronze.
In the girls' 60+60 metres distance of Recurve section, G Pranitha of Telengana scored highest 653 points to emerge champion defeating Prachi Singh of host Jharkhand (652 points) followed by Unnati Raut of Maharashtra (651 points).
