Thousands of people gathered today at Jio Gardens, Bandra Kurla Complex, here to catch a glimpse of British pop sensation Ed Sheeran, who is in India for a concert.
The 25-year-old singer-songwriter arrived in India on the Asia leg of his tour for his latest album 'Divide'.
The singer, who had recently fractured his right wrist and left elbow in a bicycle accident, has kept his date with Indian fans, even though his injury forced him to cancel and reschedule tour dates in other countries.
He was due to trek Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong through November 5.
Sheeran landed here on Friday amid heavy security and much fanfare. He was welcomed at the airport in a traditional ceremony with flowers, dancers and dhols.
After he landed, Sheeran partied with Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira, Malaika Arora and others, who enjoyed a party at filmmaker Farah Khan's residence. Farah had hosted the much-publicised night in the honour of the "Shape Of You" hitmaker.
According to the organisers, Sheeran is accompanied by an entourage of 45 people and has put up at a hotel in south Mumbai.
The gates of the venue opened at 5pm and Sheeran's concert started at 8. His concert was preceded on stage by Pop artist Lauv.
This is the Grammy Award winner's second visit to Mumbai, after his 2015 concert here.
