A Chandigarh court today rejected the bail plea of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala's son Vikas Barala who was booked on the charges of stalking and attempting to abduct a 29-year-old woman.
It was the fourth time that the bail plea of Vikas Barala was rejected.
"The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge R K Sharma dismissed the bail plea," defence counsel Rabindra Pandit said.
Charges have already been framed against Vikas Barala, and his friend Ashish Kumar, in connection with the stalking case involving the daughter of a senior IAS officer.
The incident had triggered widespread outrage and a spate of protests across the country.
Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar were arrested in the month of August in connection with the case.
Earlier, the same court had dismissed the bail plea of Vikas Barala. The court of judicial magistrate first class (JMIC) Barjinder Pal Singh had also rejected the bail plea twice.
The woman, the daughter of a senior IAS officer, had accused Vikas Barala (23) and his friend Kumar (27) of stalking and attempting to abduct her.
The two men were arrested on the intervening night of August 4 and 5 following her complaint but were released on bail as they were booked under bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.
They were arrested again on August 9 after they joined the investigation and were charged with attempted abduction under sections 365 and 511 of the IPC.
