According to a survey by Fandango, the J J Abrams-directed film tops the list of most awaited films this year.
Marvel's 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', Lionsgate's 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2', the adaptation of EL James' 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and 'Jurassic World' are the other films that round off the list.
'The Force Awakens' will hit theaters on December 18, 2015. It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow, along with original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.
'Star Wars' actress Ridley is the breakout actress of the year, while 'Fifty Shades' actor Jamie Dornan topped the male breakout star list.
