Speaking at the closing ceremony of State-level Kinnaur Mahotsav at Reckong Peo, 250 km from here, Singh said that the state has achieved a lot in education sector, our per capita income had increased and our state is nowone of the fast developing hill state in the country, credit for whichgoes to successive Congressgovernments.
Hitting out at the Central government for steep rise in prices, Virbhadra Singh said that it had become difficult for a common man to survive as the prices ofpulses and other vegetableswere sky-rocketing across the countryand the government had lost control over the situation.
Making an oblique reference of his resignation demand by BJP, Singh said that he was not in the office at the mercy of the opposition and hadbecome the Chief Minister six times with the blessings of the people.
He laid foundation stone of the government degreecollege in Reckong Peo building to be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.72 crore and also inaugurated the newly-constructed police barracks at Police lines Reckong-Peo constructed at a cost of Rs 1.09 crore with intake capacity of 28 persons.
Singh said thatthepolice ground would be converted into a stadium by demolishing the old structures around it andannounced to release Rs 1 crore for maintenance and improvement of the police ground stadium.
He said the work on Hindustan-Tibet road was in progress and various link roads in the district were being maintained and widened.
