Around 150 school students from across UP would converge at the Vidhan Sabha premises here to take part in a state-level children's parliament beginning tomorrow.
The event to be hosted at the Rajshri Purushottam Das Tandon Hall in the Assembly House complex is being organised by the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (UPSCPCR) in association with Save the Children.
During the programme students be interacting with the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Assembly Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey, Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mohd Azam Khan.
On the first day, students in the age group of 13-18 years would hold discussions on the issues related to nutrition health and education.
On the second day Akhilesh would interact with them and answer their queries.
The children would also get an opportunity to visit the iconic Assembly building and learn about the parliamentary process after the interactive session with the dignitaries.
Among the students, most are from nearly 60 schools from across the states while some of them are from slums, who have never been to schools.
Chairperson, UPSCPCR, Juhie Singh said the state government may use the suggestions of the children in framing policies related to important sectors including health, education, nutrition, and child abuse.
"Chief Minister will personally interact with the students and discuss with them the problems that they face in schools and daily lives. These problems may be related to quality education availability of resources and infrastructure.
"As the CM himself will listen to the students directly the state government may use their suggestions in framing policies insuring sustainable development of children in health and education and making provision of funds in the budget for that too," she said.
